Tej Kalra, M.D., is a Fellow with the American College of Gastroenterology and a Fellow with the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Kalra earned his medical degree from a prestigious medical institute in India. He became board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology after his residency and fellowship at the University of Rochester, in Rochester New York. Having served as a Clinical Faculty Member at the University for 10 years, Dr. Kalra became a reputable and respected gastroenterologist, before moving to Southern California in 1987.
Upon his relocation, Dr. Kalra opened his private practice in Central and Coastal Orange County. Dr. Kalra became a regular staff member at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in 1988 and has since, served as the Chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology and as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine, at Hoag Hospital. Among his multiple accomplishments, Dr. Kalra is an Associate Clinical Professor, with the Voluntary Clinical Faculty at the University of California, Irvine.
Not only has Dr. Kalra published numerous articles and papers in various prestigious medical journals, but has also managed to keep up with the ever changing field of medicine by participating in medical seminars, lectures and presentations. He is in constant interaction with the national leaders in his field of practice, setting a high standard of care and knowledge.
More importantly however, Dr. Kalra is well known for his compassion, understanding and love for his patients. He has engrossed himself with opportunities to obtain new and better ways to treat his patients and further evolve the field of gastroenterology. It is no argument, that Dr. Kalra dedicates and prides himself in bettering mankind and has volunteered as a treating doctor on a Mission to Africa, with the Presbyterian Church and Hoag Hospital. It is without a doubt, that Dr. Kalra is a pioneer in his field and gives his patients the respect and care that he has made a priority, in his practice.
